Elevate Automation has been helping Utah homeowners upgrade their home entertainment experience by providing quality home automation. To protect your state-of-the-art home theater equipment and keep it functioning optimally, we encourage you to clean and maintain it regularly per manufacturer recommendations. This will improve and ensure your viewing experience for years to come.

THE RIGHT CLEANER IS ESSENTIAL

Keeping dust, dirt, and pet hair off of audio/visual equipment will not only protect it but improve performance. But careful cleaning is essential as harsh chemicals can do damage, and make sure everything is off before you begin. Avoid using paper towels because they can scratch surfaces and leave lint behind.

SCREENS AND LENSES
Our installation experts can tell you if specialized cleaners are needed for your equipment. Use a dry cloth or photographic dust blowers to clean these sensitive surfaces. You don’t want to rub lenses or screens to avoid scratching them.

SPEAKERS
Anytime you are working with wood, a soft or microfiber cloth is a safe bet. Oils also work well with wood while varnishes are safe on plywood and vinyl (use a wet and a dry cloth for these, one to wash and clean and one to dry).

PROJECTOR
If your theater has a projector, you can clean it whenever you clean the air filter or change the bulb. It should be cooled and the projector unplugged. Any vents should be cleaned as well.

SEATING
If your seats are made from leather, you can use a damp cloth to wipe down dust and dirt. Other material can be vacuumed. This will help extend the life of the material.
